How To Grow A Business -- It works. Clients can feel it. It builds relationships and trust. And yes, i do have a passion for what I do -- it’s renewed with every new customer and every new colleague. What’s better than figuring something out then getting an email like I just got from an engineering customer who needed a new video to explain a technological advancement in a motor: Thanks for kicking the usual ass that you guys do.
I’m asked to mentor others who are creative directors, or aspiring creatives -- and many ask “how do you stay inspired 12 hours a day and sometimes seven days a week?” -- here’s what I tell them:
LISTEN AND LEARN
Just this week, I worked with an advanced, experienced team at AT&T on a five-minute movie introducing their new product. The next call was with an entrepreneur wanting assistance to create his patent materials. After that, I worked with a physician who has an improved orthopedic surgical technique. What a wonderful day! Every day at Austin Visuals 3D Animation Company, each of us has an opportunity to help business people from the largest, most well-known companies in the world -- and the newest innovators.
I’m so grateful to share everything I’ve learned over decades of marketing in health care, science, industries, and corporations to help our customers find the right words and images to convey what’s better, different, and special in memorable 3D, 2D animation, and motion graphics to help our customers.
- AS A MARKETER YOU HAVE TO BE FASCINATED WITH A PRODUCT BEFORE YOU CAN FASCINATE POTENTIAL PURCHASERS
That sounds obvious. It’s also logical. Most of all, it’s imperative. Whether if you work in an agency with committees or are a solo entrepreneur, you have to be enthusiastic and present and involved. You can’t fake it. It can’t be only about the money you might make. It has to be about helping your client’s customer find a superior product or service through your effort.
This year, we worked with a great client who has an insulation business. Now, I’m a homeowner but I knew nothing about insulation until this client educated me -- so we could educate their customers -- I got so excited to understand how all this complex process works here’s the result
And I also learned about socks. Yes, socks. And how to set one sock store apart from others because theirs are knit from wool. Creative challenge -- show wool in an interesting way:
I’ve met and worked with a dental hygienist who created a revolutionary ergonomic solution to prevent injury to caregivers.
HOW TO GROW A BUSINESS -- WORK WITH THE BEST TEAM YOU CAN FIND
As a writer of persuasive communication, my greatest frustration has always been getting the ideas and “mind pictures” I have in my brain into digital media, videos, movies. I’m so grateful to the team of 2D, 3D, 2D, motion graphics and VR animators, modelers, lighting specialists and others who work with me to produce our customers’ videos. There’s nothing they can’t do. If the product, building, oil refinery, ship, or surgical instrument doesn’t exist yet, they’ll work with drawings to make it “exist” as if were at your fingertips.
The 3D artists take simple sketches on paper or CAD files and make magic. Our 2D team reaches into their creative bag of tricks to come up with just about anything you could imagine to illustrate a script I write or one we receive from a client.
