Questions about 3D animation — All of us at our 3D/2D Animation Studio know that no two animations are ever the same, because we treat each customer according to their unique needs and schedule. In general, however, we have found following these steps saves time (which saves you money) on larger projects. Some steps can be “skipped” in less complex productions. Additional steps are required for VR. Some phases are concurrent. We’ll always be in touch for meetings with you twice each week.
- Review goals, objectives, and timeline for the animation.
- Confirm the budget and payment parameters
- Receive assets you may have (CAD files, drawings, illustrations, photos)
- Determine your project leader and those who will be involved in decision making.
- Go over graphics and visual corporate or company standards
- Discuss the strategy, product/service benefits, wants, and needs
- Review the Script, get the script to final
- Prepare storyboards for review and approval
- Have the script recorded by a professional narrator of your choice (if narration is desired)
- Select music
- Do an animatic (a moving example of the storyboards)
- Begin animation
- Review scenes for comments and approval
- Prepare a low-resolution video of all scenes
- Receive approval
- Prepare and deliver the high-resolution 2D, 3D, video.

Will you sign an NDA?
Yes, and we follow NDA’s scrupulously. In fact, many 3D, 2D, Virtual Reality, Medical Device, Surgical and Forensic legal animations we do are under NDA and cannot be shown as examples of our work. So, if you’re looking through our work examples and don’t see just what you need – chances are we’ve done just what you’re looking for but can’t show it to you. We retain the visualization expertise, we just can’t share any details that might infringe on another company’s concepts or ideas.
Can you match our branding and graphics standards?
Absolutely, send us your manuals or guidelines and we’ll match style, font, colors, tone, and direction.
I work in a huge company, can you work with multiple inputs from our committees?
We’ve worked with many large international companies with input from marketing, sales, legal, and other committees. We join your team, set up a plan to review and communicate, and keep you informed.
I’m in a small startup company, what if I don’t know what I need?
Our experience in writing scripts, devising and creating visuals, and strategizing the benefits and differences of your product or service from your competitors is all available. Our success depends on YOUR success no matter what size budget you have and we’ll work to give you the best solution.
I have a fixed budget, can you help me?
Be upfront about what you can afford. We’ll use all our experience and considerable creative skills to find a unique solution to sell your story from $2,000 for a 60-second animation.
I need animation how much will it cost using your Austin-based animation studio?
We determine the cost based on how long it takes our artists to model, light, texture, color, and animate your products, services, or ideas.
How can I save money on 2D or 3D animation from your animation company?
If you have a script, that saves money. If you have CAD files, that saves money. If you can send us a product sample we can scan into the computer, that saves money. Austin Visuals will give you suggestions and ideas to maximize the success of your marketing investment.
How long does it take to create a 60 to 90-second 2D or 3D animation?
Custom 2D animation takes 4-6 weeks, custom realistic 3D animation takes 4-8 weeks. 2D using pre-animated characters can be done in 2 weeks. Motion graphics can be added to a video in just a few days. VR projects (depending on length) can take 4-6 months. We can do rush projects when needed.

How often will I get updates?
We regularly contact our customers twice each week with updates and information, but we’re available for questions, concerns, ideas, and comments 7 days a week.
I am using federal funds, are you USA based?
Yes, Austin Visuals is based in Austin and has another office in Dallas. Our artists are American citizens, which qualifies us for work on any project using government funding including training videos for the US armed forces, public service companies, and others with similar restrictions.
Can I show my video on my website and on social media as well as on a big screen at a huge company meeting?
Yes, our high definition video products can be shown on any screen from phone to stadium and on any platform.
